On March 17, 2003, Slater Stainless Corp. requested a hearing regarding the Superintendent’s Notice of Proposal dated February 17, 2003, to make an order pursuant to section 88 of the Act, requiring the preparation of a new valuation report for the Pension Plan for Slater Stainless Corp. The pre-hearing conference scheduled for June 16, 2003 did not proceed since an Order was issued on June 2, 2003 by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in relation to Slater Stainless Corp., pursuant to the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-36.  The Order includes a stay of all proceedings.

On June 7, 2006, the Tribunal issued to the Applicant, a Notice of Intention to Dismiss the proceeding in accordance with Rule 37 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure for Proceedings Before the Financial Services Tribunal.  On July 13, 2006, the Tribunal dismissed the matter and issued a Notice of Dismissal.
